Celebrating historically underrepresented Black artists, this partnership presents Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Clarinet Quintet, Hannah Kendall’s string quartet “Vera”, and—aiming for “both raucous and exquisitely poised,” as New York Times critic Seth Colter Walls said of his work—an exciting new co-commission by David Sanford. The night features Rane Moore, clarinet, and Ashleigh Gordon, viola, the ensembles’ artistic directors and Longy faculty members, in a faculty recital duo debut. Lights out, night’s up, let’s see.
